Borislav Bjelicic Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management Department (University of Mannheim)

Abstract

The article describes aviation perspectives for the Russian Federation. It focuses on tourism and aviation ties between Russia and Germany, which are of course embedded in the wider framework of the EU tourism and aviation policy. The long-term perspectives for international air services between the Russian Federation and other parts of the world are promising although depending on the GDP growth of Russia, on the development of currency exchange rates, on visa policy issues and, finally on the further development of international aviation relations. Perhaps a unilateral change in the Russian visa and aviation policy could be a starting point for bringing more tourists on more air transport services to Russia.

Key words: Aviation; Tourism; Visa Policy, Aviation Policy; Russia; Germany; European Union.
